The Downsides To Dog Ownership?
I like my dog. He is a small bundle of energy (surprisingly for a pug) who makes me smile everyday and provides me with unfaltering loyalty and companionship. I cannot imagine my life without him in it and I dread the day he leaves me.
But sometimes he drives me insane. Anyone who denies, at times, that their dog pushes their patience to the limits is in my opinion a liar. He barks at the most inappropriate times (particularly in the middle of a movie which requires your attention), he is greedy (my own fault for feeding him leftovers as a pup), he snores LOUDLY, he sheds like crazy, he always poops when people are looking at us/trying to pet him, he point blank refuses to have his nails clipped/teeth cleaned, he steals my socks, he ruins all the new plants and flowers in the garden and he insists on getting as close to you as he can possibly get (resulting in me tripping over him alot). Despite all of that, he is my dog and I adore him. One small look from those huge brown eyes and all terrible points are forgotten.
What are your personal experiences of the downside to owning a dog/s? And people who say ‘there are no downsides, as my dog is so well trained’ blah blah may as well not answer because you must be fibbing! NO dog is perfect, no matter how obedient.
